Visit the stars of Calf Cam at the SMC Fall Festival

Come see the South Mountain Creamery in person during the Fall Festival, October 18 and 19. Free and open to the public.

These Calves are mooosic to the camera! Whether just hanging out or grabbing a snack, you'll milk hours of enjoyment watching them.

The calves are hosted by our friends at South Mountain Creamery in Middletown, Maryland. If you want your milk straight from the Cow, you have to call South Mountain Creamery.

Schedule

  • 10:30am ET Calf Chats on Wednesdays in the Calf Chatroom (Alternates with Chicks)
  • 4:00 pm ET Daily Calf Feedings

  • Calves are bottle feed until they're big enough to eat on their own.
  • The calves get free choice feeding, a mixture of corn, hay, soybeans and minerals they choose from. All the feed is grown right at the dairy.
  • The calves receive no growth hormones or unnecessary antibiotics.
  • Cows are social animals. They "moo" and use different body positions and facial expressions to communicate with each other.
  • Like snowflakes, no two cows have the same spot patterns.
  • The average cow producers 200,000 to 350,000 glasses of milk in her lifetime.
